Ecollywood: Drew on being Green & more! April 7th, 2011 |
 |
Drew featured on Ecollywood on the Mother Nature Network, he talks about being green, The Resolution, Glory Daze and more!
Actor-singer Drew Seeley recycles at home and brings his own bags to the store. “It’s a little thing but I think it helps. I don’t drive too much. I walk and hike a lot and bike ride whenever I can,” said Seeley, whose CD “The Resolution” debuted April 5. “It’s definitely more grown up than the Disney things I’ve done,” noted the “High School Musical” and “Another Cinderella Story” vet. The musical style is “Maroon 5 meets Michael Jackson,” said Seeley, who co-wrote all the tracks.
Seeley’s TBS college comedy series “Glory Daze” won’t return but it was fun while it lasted. “I wasn’t in a fraternity at college so I got to live vicariously through the show and get paid for it so it was a dream job.” His Hallmark movie “Freshman Father,” about a teen mom who takes off, leaving her baby with his Harvard student father, will be rebroadcast on Hallmark Movie Channel April 8. He had fun working with the twins who played the baby. “They dictated when we shot and how long we shot for. When one was crying the other one would usually be calm and vice versa so it worked out,” he explained. “It was a great experience.”

Article: “Glory Daze” Cancelled February 25th, 2011 |
 |
Yesterday it was officially announced that “Glory Daze” has been cancelled. We really loved the show, and it was sad to hear it won’t be back. We wish Drew & the cast the best as I’m sure they are on to other great new projects. Here are a few tweets from Drew & the cast after the announcement, and an article as well.
TBS’ first hourlong comedy series Glory Daze will not be returning for a second season. The cable network has opted not to renew the once-promising fraternity comedy from creators/executive producers Walt Becker and Michael LeSieur, about a group of friends who are trying to navigate college life in 1980s Wisconsin.
The nine-episode first season of the show had a quiet run, premiering with a soft 1.8 million viewers and a 1.0/3 in 18-49 in November and gradually slipping to wrap with a 1.1 million viewers last month. The show did get a sizable boost from DVR viewership and had a very low median age (just north of 25), but that probably wasn’t enough to keep it from cancellation. One of the actors on the show, Chris D’Elia, just booked a pilot, NBC’s untitled Whitney Cummings comedy. TBS is staying in the hourlong comedy genre with two new pilots, now in production: Hound Dogs and The Wedding Band.
mikelesieur:Hey guys – We got the bad news from the network last night, no Season 2 for Glory Daze. So disappointed, but we appreciate all your support! Wish we could be bringing you more fun and laughs with the kids of Hayes University, but it’s a cruel business.
DrewSeeley:Can’t say I’m not bummed. #GloryDaze was a blast. Hope you all enjoy it in the UK fresh! Onward and upward, been here plenty of times before. But YOU GUYS are all rock stars for the support you showed us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. D
ItsMattBush: Had an amazing time on #GloryDaze. Thank you to everyone involved and to everyone who enjoyed and supported the show. Love you all.
TheBigHTonight:Will always love and miss #GloryDaze – thanks to everyone for all the incredible support. The last year was a tremendous ride!
ChrisDelia:Stankowski – R.I.P.

Article: Drew’s Role in “Glory Daze” Is Quite A Star Turner November 15th, 2010 |
 |
The Examiner has an article/interview with Drew on his role as Jason on Glory Daze premiering tomorrow!
Those of you who are fans of Drew Seeley’s from his past acting work or his music career may have done a double-take at the TBS TV spots for their new 1980s college comedy, Glory Daze. The character of Jason is the epitome of prep with his pink polo shirts, pleated khakis, tennis sweater tied loosely around his neck, and neatly parted hair, but that may be quite of a stretch for the actor portraying him.
“I’m definitely not a staunch conservative like he is,” Seeley laughed when LA TV Insider Examiner visited the set of Glory Daze in Los Angeles last month. “But there are other things about him I can relate to. There are situations he’ll get into with his girlfriend, though, and I’ve definitely been there.”
In the premiere episode for this new series, Seeley’s character has a long-time girlfriend who he managed to convince to come to college with him at Hayes, even though she got into Yale. They are the perfect Republican match-made in heaven, modeling themselves after the Reagans. That is, until a night of drinking and pranks at a frat house opens his eyes to the larger world outside his elephant-covered dorm room walls.
“Oh, she’ll be back,” Seeley confirmed. “I pretty much find ways to screw things up with her in every episode.”
